Tonight's reading dedicated to Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller, the great playwright/writer/actvist, died late Thursday evening. I am dedicating my reading tonight at Prairie Lights Books in Iowa City to Miller. Miller had a profound influence on my work, particularly his play "The Crucible." "The Crucible," a play written in response to and a protest against the blacklist and McCarthy, is one of the most important pieces of political popular culture made in the 20th Century.

Please join me in honoring a great cultural activist who struggled against injustice in this life, leaving behind a legacy of honor. I hope that Miller finds peace in the next world.
